September 12, 2020. Strength TogetHER facilitated by Lokopakar has been providing a platform for girls where they can share their thoughts, feelings and build peer support. Its a virtual program where girls don’t feel any kind of obligation and speak without fear. It was a memorable journey of 5 weeks and I feel sad that is the last blog for Cohort 3. The feeling of our first lesson and last session was so different. From sharing our thoughts about gender equality to expressing our dream job, I feel very comfortable to speak with these girla by now. Each of them inspired in one way or another. We had our amazing Ms. Rozina Dahal with us for the last session.  Our last session’s topic was “Beyond pink and blue”. The topic itself speaks a lot. It was more about gender-stereotyping and we know we have spoken about this topic before but this one turned out different from previous ones. We girls and boys are living in a typical society where we have to pursue our dreams according to our gen

September 5, 2020. Strength TogetHER, facilitated by Lokopakar is a virtual place for girls to speak their hearts out while in a group and find peer support. It provides girls a platform to express their feeling, emotions, and stories. Girls form a group and comfortably share it while they have a moderator to guide them. It is really a joyful note that it has been our 5th session already and rather than being nervous I feel a different kind of excitement to interact with them and share experiences and stories. We had our respected Amina ma’am with us again for this session. Being a cohort of young dreamers, the topic we decided for the session was “Chasing our Dreams”. It is no longer a myth that girls who chase their dreams are the real superheroes. Dreams are what make us compassionate and driven to pursue it. Now, it’s a known fact that girls are capable as boys that’s something we can’t argue about. If a boy is an engineer, they are an engineer but if a girl is an engineer, she is

It targets for enhancement of youths while girls are present with an honorable moderator to provide them suggestions and feedbacks. It has been a blissful ride from session 1 to session 4.   Our moderator for this session was Ms. Amina Shrestha. She is a proud single mother and teacher. She has finished her MBA from Kathmandu University. She is currently educating at Uniglobe college. She is the perfect example of a brave, heroic, and courageous person. Our last session with her where she shared her personal experience totally inspired all of us and now, she is again here with us to encourage us with her tender words.   Our topic for this very session was “ Power within us ”. The topic itse

It has been focusing on girls to excel and help them in divergent ways. It has been an incredible journey from cohort 1 to cohort 3. Gratefully, we conducted our third session of Strength togetHER cohort 3. Our moderators who played a huge role in our session are Ms.Amina Shrestha and Ms.Rozina Dahal. Ms.Rozina Dahal has graduated with development studies from Kathmandu University and has always provided girls guidance and shared her side of stories as well in order to make us feel comfortable. Ms.Amina Shrestha is a proud single mother and teacher. She has completed her MBA from Kathmandu University. I was remarkably moved the first time I heard Amina’s ma’am stories and I knew I somehow had to introduce her to

8th August 2020 Facilitated by ‘Lokopakar’ youth organization which focuses on the development of youth in Nepal, 'Strength togetHER' virtual program is created specially, for girls and young women of different mindsets and backgrounds. During our sessions, they all come together to share various views, ideas, perspectives, experiences, and stories. This space helps them to grow as individuals by creating a platform to just be themselves, talk about their issues, and find solutions to their problems. From sharing our stories to voicing our opinions we have successfully carried out our second session. It has been a roller coaster ride and I am very glad that girls have uttered to articulate their matters in a group. The feeling of nervousness when we held our first session was nothing to compare with our second session. Again, with our other session, I feel empowered and got different ideas which I am very thankful for. Strength TogetHER  acts as a helping hand to all the gir

25 July, 2020 Strength togeHER facilitated by Lokopakar provides a virtual safe platform for girls by sharing their personal stories, ideas, and dreams among them. Girls are guided and encouraged by a highly skilled moderator. Girls face unique challenges even in some societies of present day where patriarchy is ruling in one way or the other. This virtual program gives girls the opportunity to share their stories with each other and get strength from each other. It motivates us to take actions and helps to build confidence within ourselves. Strength TogetHER has been running its 2 cohorts successfully and smoothly. To expand further we decided to take another step and thus formed "Strength togetHER cohort 3." Being part of Cohort 1 as a participant, I, Christy Gurung took up the action and it makes me so excited to say that we successfully completed the first introductory session of Strength togetHER cohort 3. Miss. Rozina Dahal was the moderator of our first session. She g
